The company was founded in 1954 in Taiwan. In coorporation with Bridgestone during the 1960s - 1970s and Sumitomo during the 1980s - 2000 in technology, Federal tire was enhanced and sold in different parts of the world.

In 2023, Federal tyre factory in Taiwan has closed. The brand has change to South East Asia for manufacturing Federal tyre.
